As schools begin uploading their admission lists to the JAMB portal, candidates are advised to regularly check their JAMB CAPS. Once an admission offer is made, candidates are required to either accept or reject the admission within the specified period.
Some institutions may not immediately publish their admission lists on their websites or notice boards. Therefore, checking JAMB CAPS remains an important way for candidates to know whether their admission has been processed.
How to Check Admission Status on JAMB CAPS
- Visit the JAMB e-Facility portal and log in with your registered email address and password.
- Click on “Check Admission Status.”
- Select “Access My CAPS.”
- Click on “Admission Status” to view your admission status.
- If you have been offered admission, your admission offer will be displayed.
- If admission has not been offered yet, you may see “Sorry, No Admission Has Been Given Yet.”
How to Accept or Reject JAMB Admission
Candidates who receive an admission offer on CAPS can accept or reject it through the available JAMB process. Candidates using the SMS option can send ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number linked to their JAMB profile.
According to JAMB, candidates are given four weeks to respond to an admission offer. Candidates who no longer have access to their registered phone numbers should visit a JAMB-accredited centre for assistance.
Print Your JAMB Admission Letter
After accepting an admission offer, candidates should print their JAMB Admission Letter. The document may be required during the institution's clearance and registration process.
Checking JAMB CAPS on a Mobile Phone
If you are accessing JAMB CAPS with a phone and cannot see the admission status option, switch your browser to Desktop Site.
On Google Chrome, open the browser menu and select “Desktop site” to load the full JAMB CAPS interface.
Keep Checking Your JAMB CAPS
Admission offers may be released at different times as institutions continue their admission processes. Candidates who are still awaiting admission should therefore check their JAMB CAPS regularly and take the necessary action once an offer appears.
