The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has officially announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post UTME (PUTME) and Post Direct Entry (PUDE) Admission Screening Exercise for candidates seeking admission into the institution for the new academic session.

The screening exercise is scheduled to take place from Monday, 27th July 2026 to Saturday, 1st August 2026 at designated Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres located within the Ugbowo Campus of the University of Benin, Edo State.

The screening exercise will be conducted strictly through the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, and candidates are expected to adhere to all guidelines and instructions provided by the university throughout the admission process.

Eligibility Criteria for UNIBEN Screening Exercise

To qualify for the 2026/2027 UNIBEN Post UTME screening exercise, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Candidates must have selected UNIBEN as their first-choice institution during JAMB registration.
  2. UTME candidates must score a minimum of 200 in the 2026 JAMB examination.
  3. Candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or equivalent examinations.
  4. The required subjects must include English Language and Mathematics (where applicable) alongside other relevant subjects related to the intended course of study.
  5. O’Level results must not exceed two sittings.
  6. Candidates are advised to have a valid email address before beginning the application process.
UNIBEN Post UTME Application Period

The online application portal will open from:

  1. Friday, 5th June 2026
  2. Closing Date: Midnight of Friday, 3rd July 2026

Candidates are strongly advised to complete their applications before the deadline, as late payments or incomplete registrations will not be accepted.

How to Apply for UNIBEN Post UTME 2026/2027

Candidates should carefully follow the steps below to complete their application successfully:

  1. Visit the official UNIBEN application portal.
  2. Click on the “Application” menu.
  3. Read all instructions carefully and select the Post-UTME application option.
  4. Click on “Begin Application Process.”
  5. Enter your JAMB Registration Number and JAMB Score.
  6. Create and set your password.
  7. Login using your JAMB Registration Number and password.
  8. Fill in the required information correctly.
  9. Click on “Pay with Remita” to make payment.
  10. Pay the screening application fee of ₦2,000 only (excluding portal charges) using an ATM-enabled card.
  11. Preview and confirm all information before final submission.

Candidates should note that corrections cannot be made after submission of the application form.

Important Information for Candidates

The university has instructed applicants to revisit the portal from Friday, 17th July 2026 to check their:

  1. Screening date
  2. Examination venue
  3. Time schedule

All candidates are expected to arrive at their screening centres at least one hour before the scheduled examination time.

Candidates are expected to come along with:

  1. Acknowledgement Slip
  2. Screening Invitation Slip containing examination schedule
Prohibited Items

UNIBEN management has warned that the following items are strictly prohibited during the screening exercise:

  1. Mobile phones
  2. Calculators
  3. Any unauthorized electronic device

Candidates found with prohibited items may be disqualified from the screening exercise.

  1. Ensure their O’Level results are uploaded on the JAMB CAPS portal.

Final Note

Candidates who make payment after the application deadline of Friday, 3rd July 2026 will not be screened. Prospective students are therefore advised to complete their registration early and prepare adequately for the CBT screening exercise.
