The African-German Network of Excellence in Science (AGNES) has officially confirmed the selection of 45 awardees across its research funding programmes, including the AGNES BAYER Research Grant (IRG) and the AGNES Intra-Africa Mobility Grant (MG). The announcement was made following the Board Meeting held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Among the distinguished recipients is Bunmi Regina Bankole, an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Industrial Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences, University of Ilesa. She was selected under the General Category for the 2025 AGNES Intra-Africa Mobility Grant, a highly competitive programme designed to strengthen research capacity and foster academic collaboration within Africa.

The AGNES Intra-Africa Mobility Grant aims to support early-career researchers by enabling them to engage in collaborative research, gain international exposure, and enhance scientific innovation across the continent.
